Meet Florida Dementia Training Requirements with CARES®

HealthCare Interactive and the Alzheimer's Association are excited to announce that you can now meet the State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs dementia training requirements by purchasing special versions of CARES. CARES Florida Level I and CARES Florida Level II meet all mandated levels of training for the following facility types:

• Assisted Living Facilities (ALF Level 1 Requirements): Complete CARES Florida Level I.


• Assisted Living Facilities (ALF Level 2 Requirements): Complete CARES Florida Level II.


• Nursing Homes: CARES Florida Level I and CARES Florida Level II can be substituted to meet your Florida NH requirements. Note: Both courses must be completed by all employees.


• Hospice: CARES Florida Level I and CARES Florida Level II can be substituted to meet your Florida Hospice requirements. Note: Both courses must be completed by all employees.


• Adult Day Care: CARES Florida Level I and CARES Florida Level II can be substituted to meet your Florida ADC requirements. Note: Both courses must be completed by all employees.


• Home Health: CARES Florida Level I and CARES Florida Level II can be substituted to meet your Florida HH requirements. Note: Both courses must be completed by all employees.

Alzheimer’s Association® essentiALZ™ Certification

This product includes access to the Alzheimer's Association essentiALZ certification exam. Simply complete CARES Florida Level I, successfully pass the online essentiALZ certification exam, and print your certification document and be recognized for your knowledge. Once you have become certified in Alzheimer's Association essentiALZ, you may also complete CARES Florida Level II and take the exam to be certified by the Alzheimer's Association in essentiALZ Advanced. (You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the essentiALZ certification program.)

Note: To take the exam for Alzheimer's Association essentiALZ Advanced certification, you must first complete CARES Florida Level I and take/pass the exam for Alzheimer's Association essentiALZ.

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Approval

Medicare has identified the CARES Program as fulfilling the mandate of Section 6121 of the Affordable Care Act for Nurse Aide Training in Nursing Homes. Learn More.

CARES® Florida Level I™ Modules

CARES Florida Level I is an online, video-based training program covering the first 5 modules of our standard CARES® Dementia Basics & Advanced Care™ Program. It also has additional information to meet the mandated Florida curriculum requirements (approval number ALF AD 225, as listed on the USF Training Academy on Aging). A customized certificate with Florida approval numbers will print out upon successful completion of the program.

CARES® Florida Level II™ Modules

Continuing Education

If you complete CARES Florida Level I and CARES Florida Level II and are a nurse, social worker, or administrator, you have completed the 10 modules required to receive continuing education credit. Unlimited-User Pricing

Our unlimited-user pricing for facilities means that you can train one person or your entire staff at any one physical location for one low monthly price. If your organization has more than one facility (e.g., one assisted living facility, two nursing homes, etc.), each location using CARES Florida Level I and CARES Florida Level II needs to purchase a separate license.

Administrative Tracking

Each employee uses the facility access code to log in to CARES Florida Level I and CARES Florida Level II and then enters his or her own name. The Administrative Tracking system tracks each person's progress individually and keeps a log of all employee user data within your facility account.
