In each of the Savvy Caregiver DVD sessions, the instructor asks participants to complete an assignment on a "homework" CD-ROM. Since CD-ROMs do not run on all computers and operating systems, we discontinued the CD-ROM and now offer the "homework" in an online format.

The Savvy Caregiver Online Homework Activities are approximately two hours in length. It’s not required that you complete the homework activities as part of the Savvy Caregiver program, but doing so will help you personalize your caregiving strategies as well as follow along with the Savvy participants in the DVD sessions.

The Savvy Caregiver Online Homework Activities can also be used by itself. It’s a great resource for understanding the stages of memory loss and dementia and how to adjust the way your loved one participates in activities at each stage—as well as how you should adjust your caregiving assistance over time.

The Savvy Caregiver Online Homework Activities was developed as a collaborative effort between the Department of Veterans Affairs Employee Education System (EES), the Geriatrics and Extended Care Strategic Healthcare Group, HealthCare Interactive, and a national team of experts.
